Giving Thanks

Hi my friends, I wanted to wish you a happy new month as we head into the holiday season. November is a great time to take stock of our lives and think of all of the ways we are blessed and give thanks. Our family has had a lot of change, including this blog, and so many big things to be grateful daughter Jessi getting married to a wonderful man, Roman, and welcoming him and his beautiful daughter into our family, Larry and I becoming grandparents, Cassi graduating high school and starting  college, and we just moved to a new city.
That’s a lot of big things, and they were all not without struggle, which just makes it even better when the dream becomes realized, right? And while I’m so grateful for the big blessings, I’ve also learned to take time to be thankful for small things as well, and it has been life-changing. It takes some practice if you were a former grumbler and complainer, can I get a witness?
A good cup of coffee, laughing with a friend, a small gesture from my hubby, or even taking a walk around my new neighborhood, it really is the little things and when I count them as blessings they seem to multiply.

If you’re having trouble getting your grateful mojo on, one book I really loved and recommend is Ann Voskamp’s “One Thousand Gifts.” She is a truly gifted writer and I was so grateful that someone had suggested I read it. One thing the book taught me was that as I acknowledged and named my blessings, the more I noticed them.
And so, in the spirit of gratefulness, I’d like to thank everyone who has supported the page, and our Instagram, and Pinterest, too..y’all are awesome and please know you’re so appreciated. Below is a free Facebook cover for you, if you’d like to save and upload it..
